    "Geriatric Care Manager"

    “With more and more families dispersed geographically, adult children who live far away from their elderly parents face ongoing worry about their health and safety,” said Lenore Borowski, a care manager for Senior Horizons, a geriatric care management program of Jewish Family and Children's Service of Greater Philadelphia.

    "In addition, out-of-town family members concerned about an older Philadelphia-area relative can call Senior Horizons to arrange needed services for their loved one and work with a Senior Horizons care manager to monitor the situation. We let you know what's happening so you can rest assured that the person you care about is being well-cared for."


    The following senior citizen nightmare is directly tied to JFCS - Senior Horizon's - Lenore Borowski, Care Manager and Susan Goldfinger Bilker, Senior Horizon's Program Manager, who bilked patient's family $80.00 per hour - totaling hundreds of dollars in private pay costs to repeatedly report: "Everything is ok." and  "Nothing is going on."

    Yet it was also JFCS' Lenore Borowski and Susan Goldfinger Bilker who both "highly recommended" Silver Lining Home Health Care Inc.  (Jonathan Golluber's) criminal Home Home Health Aides (HHA). Unethical sales referral kickbacks going on here? You bet!



    November, 2003 - Begin Silver Lining Home Health Care Service for 79 year old, frail, geriatric, widowed, female patient residing in suburban Philadelphia area (on the "Main Line").

    The First Aide - Melanie Cooper, 24 hours per week. (3 days per week, 8 hours a day) Within a month's time frame, Melanie Cooper, induced a hostile political debate with the geriatric patient about "United States verses Jamaica" insisting "Jamaica is 'superior' to the United States".  Patient was forced to terminate Ms. Cooper's services due to the conflict. Patient immediately alerted family members.

    The Second Aide - Suzette Morris, 24 hours per week. (3 days per week, 8 hours a day) Suzette Morris pilfered petty cash that patient provided, by making trips to various stores, then refused to provide patient with receipts to justify the purchases. Ms. Morris also (without authorization) ran up long distance telephone charges totaling $311.34 in international calls, plus taxes and associated fees (taxes and fees not shown) to her home island nation of Trinidad. All of this occurring while Ms. Morris was supposed to be "working"


    In addition, Suzette Morris was provided a key to the patient's home that was never returned to patient. In lieu of the fact that crimes were committed by Ms. Morris, it became absolutely necessary to have the tumblers in the locks changed. When the locksmith bill was submitted to Silver Lining for reimbursement, Silver Lining Vice President, Jonathan Golluber, refused to pay the bill (shown below) stating: "There's no proof that Suzette Morris ever had a key to your Mother's home, so I simply can't see why we should be responsible for this expense, you of course understand."
    The Third Aide - Renerra Falana, 30 hours per week (5 days per week, 6 hours a day) (Note: See Falana's signature, bottom of locksmith bill.)  Ms. Falana after approximately 6 weeks on the assignment, complained incessantly about the patient on week of April 26, 2004 (to patient's son via phone) emphatically stating: "I'm gonna be out of here in a couple months!"

    Late March, 2004 through May 4, 2004 billing statements from Silver Lining involving Ms. Falana's services indicate that Silver Lining increased Ms. Falana's weekly work schedule by 5 hours per week without authorization by patient's family; for a total of 35 hours per week instead of the 30 hours per week that was originally agreed to in conversation with Silver Lining Placement Coordinator, Dorothy Winokur.  A May 4, 2004 telephone call by family members to Dorothy Winokur about "the nature of the billing statements" resulted in Ms. Winokur's total denial of all responsibility for the unauthorized hourly increase. Ms. Winokur literally stumbled over her words in an attempt to blame anyone and everyone (else) involved (other than Silver Lining) for the unauthorized increase of 5 hours weekly. This 5 hours increase over the period of Ms. Falana's service (approximately 6 weeks) has resulted in hundreds of dollars of additional and unnecessary patient care costs. The patient's family believes wholeheartedly, that Silver Lining Home Health Care Inc., deliberately (fraudulently) increased Ms. Falana's hours without the patient's family members' authorization, in order to illicitly recover the losses associated with Ms. Morris' international telephone calls to Trinidad, previously made on the patient's home telephone.

    To date, (May 5, 2004) Silver Lining Home Health Care Inc., has reimbursed patient only a partial payment of ($243.65) for Suzette Morris' abuse of the patient's home telephone service.  Another $67.69 in additional international long distance to Trinidad, which was recently billed by ATT, has yet to be recovered. The locksmith charges of $218.79 are also outstanding; in addition to the hundreds of dollars in unauthorized service hours for Ms. Falana.  (5 hours per week, for 6 weeks, totaling approximately 30 hours, in the amount of $320.25 )

    CONCLUSION

    SILVER LINING HOME HEALTH CARE TOTALLY SUCKS AND RIPS OFF CLIENTS!

    SILVER LINING HOME HEALTH CARE INC. AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL, DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL (even criminal by their actions).

    As evidenced by this incredible (truly shocking) series of events:
    SILVER LINING AND THEIR STAFF MEMBERS CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO PROVIDE ETHICAL CARE FOR YOUR ELDERLY PARENT OR PATIENT!



    July, 2004 UPDATE
    It was only after a complaint was filed against Silver Lining Home Health Care with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Home Health Care Unit, http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/seniors.aspx?id=395 did the patient finally receive the remainder owed by Silver Lining for Ms. Morris' international calls to Trinidad, the reinbursement for the locksmith's bill and Silver Lining's overcharges for the final aide, Renerra Falana.

    After patient terminated services with Silver Lining Home Health Care, one or more of the Silver Lining Aides conspired with Joanne Bango, of Upper Darby, PA who posed as a "Maid".  Patient was approached at home during May of 2004 by Joanne Bango claiming association with Silver Lining. Due to patient's old age dementia, the patient (not remembering) allowed Ms. Bango access to the home for "cleaning".  Joanne Bango and her accomplices were able to defraud the patient (an 80 year old woman) to write checks to Joanne Bango for "cleaning services" totaling $1500.00 between May 2004 and October 2004.  In addition, while Ms. Bango ran the vacuum cleaner upstairs, her "uncle" was entering the patient's home via the front door, on the first floor and stealing cash and merchandise.  On arrival in November 2004 by patient's out of state relative, it was discovered that the patient's home was filthy top to bottom, toilets were clogged and patient was in great distress.  The Lower Merion Police Detectives Unit was contacted and a criminal complaint was filed against Joanne Bango for the theft of $7000.00 in cash withdrawls and cashed checks that were in the patient's home over the 6 month period, a stolen Hewlett Packard Laser printer, a stolen APC battery backup, numerous cleaning supplies and food stolen totaling over $200.00, plus the $1500.00 in fees paid to Ms. Bango in her "conspiracy to defraud".  Detective Kerr of the Lower Merion Police, was unable to successfully charge Joanne Bango due to how Joanne stole the cash and merchandise in small increments, over the six month time period.
